Intelligent Infrastructure & Energy

Integrated energy planning for sites preparing for electrified fleets, autonomous operations and long-term resilience — looking well beyond solar panels and batteries.

Overview

Integrated energy planning for electrified fleets and estates — grid capacity, microgrids, ground-source and geothermal options, and whole-life investment analysis.

Electrification places new demands on sites that were never designed for it. Grid connections, electrical capacity, heating and cooling, storage and resilience all need to be considered together if infrastructure is to be affordable and reliable over decades rather than years.

AMUK takes an integrated view of energy: combining demand management, renewable generation, thermal systems such as ground-source and geothermal, waste heat recovery and intelligent control — then testing each option against whole-life cost and investment requirements.

Services

What this area covers

  • Grid capacity and electrical infrastructure assessment
  • Charging hub and depot masterplanning
  • Intelligent microgrids
  • Demand management and energy optimisation
  • Ground-source heating and cooling feasibility
  • Geothermal and seasonal thermal storage assessment
  • Renewable energy integration
  • Waste heat recovery
  • Infrastructure resilience
  • Whole-life cost and investment analysis

Outcomes

What clients gain

Capacity understood

A clear picture of existing electrical capacity, constraints and upgrade pathways.

Integrated systems

Electrical, thermal and storage options assessed together rather than in isolation.

Resilience by design

Infrastructure planned to keep critical operations running when the grid is constrained.

Investment clarity

Options compared on whole-life cost, phasing and funding requirements.

Typically relevant to

  • Airports
  • Fleet depots and logistics sites
  • Universities and campuses
  • Healthcare estates
  • Ports and industrial estates

Ground-source, geothermal and thermal storage options are site-specific and require detailed survey and specialist engineering assessment before any conclusions can be drawn.
