Autonomous Mobility & Transport Strategy

Practical, commercially grounded strategy for organisations planning autonomous passenger transport — from first feasibility through to a deliverable operating model.

Overview

Helping clients establish commercially viable autonomous transport services — from feasibility and demand forecasting to operating model design.

Autonomous vehicles will only deliver public value when services are commercially viable, safely operated and properly integrated with existing transport networks. AMUK helps clients understand where autonomous services could work, what they would require and how they could be sustained over the long term.

Our autonomous mobility strategy work connects passenger demand, fleet economics, infrastructure, regulation and operations into a single, coherent picture — so decisions are based on a realistic understanding of cost, risk and opportunity rather than technology alone.

Outcomes

What clients gain

Commercial viability

A clear view of demand, fleet requirements, revenue potential and whole-life operating costs.

Integrated networks

Services designed to complement buses, rail and active travel rather than compete with them.

Regulatory clarity

An understanding of the permissions, licensing and safety considerations that apply under UK frameworks.

Deliverable operations

An operating model covering depots, charging, supervision, maintenance and passenger care.

Typically relevant to

  • Local and combined authorities
  • Transport operators
